
What if ITR-V is rejected?
Once you file your Income Tax Return online and get it e-verified, you should constantly track the status of your Income Tax Return, as there are times when your ITR-V is rejected by the Income Tax Department.
When you click on the Acknowledgement number you will know, why your ITR-V is rejected.
If you see a message that says "Filing date has exceeded the due date", this means you did not put your signature before you sent your ITR-V to CPC-Bangalore within 120 days of e-Filing the Income Tax Return.


What if ITR-V is rejected??
Reasons for the Rejection of ITR-V by Income Tax Department
The Income Tax Department may reject your ITR-V under following circumstances: -
- If your signature is missing or the ITR-V document is of "poor quality".
- If the 120 days from the date of e-filing haven’t lapsed, then you can take a fresh print out of the ITR-V, sign it and send it back to CPC within 120 days from the date of e-Filing.

What to do, when ITR-V is rejected?
- File a revised return and send the revised ITR-V to CPC Bangalore via speed post.
- Once you mark your return as revised, go ahead and e-File it.
- You'll receive your revised ITR-V on your registered email ID.
- Now send this revised ITR-V to CPC Bangalore via speed post.
