Taxpayers can check income tax refund status online after requesting for it online. The service is free with the official website and also with AllIndiaITR. One can also check refund status through phone and email as well. One can start checking it after 2-3 weeks from the date of E-filing income tax return.

To check Income tax refund status with All India ITR:

  • Visit our “Income Tax Refund Status” page
  • Enter all required details such as PAN number, assessment year, DOB and email address in the given field.
  • Once you enter the details, click on the “Submit” button.
  • A pop-up screen will appear showing up a progress bar. It will take a few minutes.
  • And it will display Income Tax Refund Status on screen.

To check Income tax refund status with Income Tax Department:

Income tax department understands that not all taxpayers are well-versed with online checking system and thus have provided the facility of knowing refund information facility through call and email.

  • Access the official website at “https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html” link.
  • In there, enter your PAN Card number and choose the assessment year for which you want to know income tax refund status.
  • Once you select the correct credentials, click the “Submit” button.
  • And your Income Tax Refund Status will be displayed on screen.

To check Income tax refund status through Call or Email

Income tax department understands that not all taxpayers are well-versed with online checking system and thus have provided the facility of knowing refund information facility through call and email.

  • Or, send an email requesting information for Income Tax Refund Status to itro@sbi.co.in or refunds@incometaxindia.gov.in.
