Steps for Incorporation of Proprietorship Registration

Local License Registration for Sole Proprietorship

The local authority, the area government or the central government issues the local license. A local license is inclusive of many licenses such as shop act license, MSME Registration, CA Certification, Income Tax Return etc.

  • MSME Registration - MSME is referred to small and medium business enterprise. MSME Registration has been simplified since September 2015 by introducing filings of online application and online document upload. Preparation of the guide license for small business is authorized by MSME Department, who also provide these businesses with subsidy or loan.
  • Chartered Accountant Certification – A practicing Chartered Accountant (from a valid, registered firm with the ICAI and Membership number) alone is authorized to issue the CA Certification. The CA will verify all the documents provided by the proprietor and issue a certification for opening a current bank account.
  • Shop Act License or Gumasta License – The municipal party of the particular area where the business is set-up issues this license. It is issued based on the number of employees and on a renewal system.
  • Business ITR - Form ITR 4 or ITR 4s consist the Income Tax Return of a business. These forms also verify the business name and the business income which will be required by some private banks while opening a current bank account.
